The exciting, game-changing years of the Endangered Spaces campaign were a key stage in Pegi’s abiding commitment and contribution to conservation. I was so privileged to share that learning journey with her at WWF, coaxing and cajoling a sprawling coalition to stay with the campaign’s science-based goals, while always respecting regional differences. Endlessly productive, passionate and positive, always ready to laugh (and sing!), Pegi orchestrated all manner of communications activities and products vital to our lasting success in more than doubling the size of Canada’s protected areas.  Together with all her achievements since then, Pegi’s legacy reaches into, and will continue to touch, every corner of Canada.
