The Spit, an artificial headland extending into Lake Ontario, was among Pegi’s favourite wild places in the city. She went cross country skiing there several times with Julia Langer in her final months. Jan 2021. 0:24 min.

“Born Free”, composed by John Barry for the film of the same name, was perhaps Pegi’s favourite song. She was inclined to belt it out anytime, anywhere upon request, even on a boat dock. Summer 2020. 0:36 min.
Neighbourhood tree inventory.
Pegi loved trees and studied them carefully. She wanted to know as much as possible, so she conducted an inventory in the neighbourhood with an iPhone app. This tree stumped her, however. Feb 2021. 2:31 min.

Pegi canoed and kayaked extensively in her final year in Killarney Provincial Park and Minesing Wetlands. Here are some clips with Beth, her daughter, accompanying the images with a traditional Canadian camp song.
Auld Lang Syne.
The Dover family gathered at the family’s chalet at Devil’s Glen every New Year’s to celebrate their Scottish heritage with dancing and song. As midnight approached the family started swirling like dervishes! Jan 2017 0:58 min.
Beth’s birthday.
Pegi loved organizing birthdays, as long as it wasn’t her own. She didn’t want the attention. Beth’s birthdays in January afforded the opportunity to celebrate Chinese New Year at the same time. Dinner came from multiple Chinese restaurants! Jan 2021 1:10 min.
Pegi’s Memorial Service
The family held a Memorial Service for Pegi on Saturday, May 12, 2021 on Zoom. Nick Ruiter, a long-term family friend, served as the officiant. Family members, friends, and colleagues talked about how Pegi and her life had influenced them. Music videos and slide shows mingled with their tributes. A selection of both can be found below.
