Catherine Dover, Sister-in-law

Pegi was such an inspiration to me in so many ways. Besides her quiet manner and gentle presence she especially inspired my interest to explore Canadian wilderness on foot or in a canoe. I know that she was an important role model to both my kids and for that too I am grateful. After talking with a dear friend this morning about Pegi and how I remember her she wrote this poem which I feel captures my description perfectly.

Reflecting back 

She was enlightened

Gifted and giving

Joyful and committed

To life

She mentored 

For fearless strength

And glistened to nature

As she was one

With the world 

She loved well

Lived well

And influenced 

By witness and kindness

And caring

Bringing fullness of life into death
