Liz Stephenson, friend

It was a privilege to know Pegi. Any visit to Toronto to had to involve a catchup with Pegi. I lived in Toronto for 3 months in 1981 and one of the highlights was getting to know her—her friendship was indeed a 'sweet spot'. I have many happy memories of time spent with her: attending the wedding, time on Christian Island, at the ski lodge one New Year's Eve or just a lunch date or a cup of tea at home. On 5 February, when she was visiting our mutual friend Mary, we were able to connect by Zoom and had a long and enjoyable chat. Her many achievements in her fight for the planet were extraordinary and inspiring. She was such a great role model for us all. We have been bereft of a beautiful soul.
