Julie Gelfand, colleague, former Auditor General for the Environment

Pegi was probably the warmest person I have ever met.  Quiet, unassuming, yet positive down to her very core.  She helped me every time I reached out when she was at WWF and I was at Nature Canada as we worked to protect Canada’s natural wonders.  I was so happy when she met Phil (as I had worked with him in the late 1980s on the Greenprint for Canada project).  I did not live in Toronto, but I remember seeing her whiz by me one day downtown on her bicycle!  I continue to follow in her footsteps, getting out into the natural world as much as I can – and I am now on the Board of WWF – so continuing her work there too!
